Summary Job description We are looking for lead teachers at our CIS Location in Arlington, VA. CIS honors creativity, and multiculturalism, and respects the fact that children learn at their own pace. We implement various curricula such as Learning Through Play and Reggio Emilia. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working with children and display knowledge of early education principles. Duties Responsibilities and Duties Key Responsibilities: To provide a warm, nurturing, and safe learning environment that encourages children to explore and grow. To plan and implement an intercultural curriculum that meets the social, physical, and emotional needs of a child. To supervise, train and evaluate the Teacher's Assistant(s). To collaborate with the Assistant and Teacher(s) on curriculum development. To direct the children and encourage them in their daily activities. To maintain good communication with parents, teacher assistants, and Director. To promote positive behavior and good social skills with the children by applying consistent techniques in accordance with licensing standards To keep staff informed of program goals and developments. To develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the school. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: Required: At least two years of teaching experience in a licensed preschool or childcare program Relevant education background: CDA, AA, BS/BA in ECE or a child-related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, enthusiastic, and committed Ability to record significant individual and group behavior.
