Safety Coordinator

DescriptionThe Safety Coordinator assists with the coordination of training for safety. The trainer will also be assisting with the needs of the safety managers to create and execute safety protocols. Typical duties include examining work areas, locating hazardous elements as well as keeping up with safety manuals and guidelines. Also, they interview injured employees, maintain first aid centers, and probe work safety incidents.Responsibilities:Follow and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices.Assess training needs for new and existing employees.Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needsOrganize, develop, or source training programs to meet specific training needs.Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design.Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks.Map out training plans for individual employees.Present training programs using recognized training techniques and tools.Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.Track and report on training outcomes provide feedback to program participants and management.Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology.Maintain employee training records.Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.Coordinate off-site training activities for employees.Maintain and manage training records related to OSHA compliance, and company-required training.Manage and facilitate extensive Safety/Security and HAZMAT training for all personnel.Organize CPR training and hearing tests for employees.Inspect all electrical tools, extension cords, ladders, fire extinguishers etc.Assist in planning, developing, scheduling, and delivering EHS education training programs.Develop and administer programs that educate employees on and ensure compliance with (OSHA) and other government agencies.Maintain compliance with OSHA, emergency action plan, fire prevention, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment programs.Establish rapport with associates to enhance investigations of identifying safety concerns and take appropriate corrective action.Ensure electrical safety, machine guarding and LOTO requirements.Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.Assist other departments when needed and any other jobs assigned by upper management. Requirements Skills and Qualifications:Have received a High School Diploma or EquivalentMust have Training/Safety experienceMust be flexible with schedule, including start times and weekend work.Must be able to work in a team environment and work independently.On call 24/7 in case of emergencyPhysical Requirements:Manual and finger dexterity.Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Reach above shoulder height.Sitting, bending, twisting, standing, work for heights, climbing stairs/ladders, pushing/pulling, and walking for length of shift.Work Environment:Work indoors as well as outdoorsWork in wet and/or humid conditionsWork in cold or hot environmentsWork around machinery Salary Description $60,000 - $65,000
