WORK ILLUSTRATION: The Distribution System Technologist (DST) Apprentice operates, installs, commissions, constructs, repairs, maintains, and decommissions all types of substation equipment, protective relay and control systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, and SCADA systems, including completion of all associated work orders, specifications, engineering drawings, reports, and work procedures, under the direction of a Distribution System Technologist. The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and coordinate work activities as related to the project Install, inspect, maintain and repair all types of substation equipment, protective relay and control systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, and SCADA RTU systems Commission, test and approve for service all substation distribution equipment, protection and control systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, SCADA RTU systems, and substation communication systems Provide operating instructions for substation equipment Perform cable terminations and testing of stations primary and secondary cable Commission, test and maintain all substation building protection systems including fire/smoke detection and suppression Install, repair, maintain substation building equipment as required (e. g.
