The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance on patent-related matters and assisting in various legal activities for the firm's clients in the life sciences industry.Duties:Draft patent applications and office action responses for clients in the life sciences sector.Conduct thorough prior art database searches to support patentability and freedom to operate analyses.Perform due diligence investigations for corporate transactions and technology transfers within the life sciences domain.Collaborate with attorneys to strategize and provide technical input on patent prosecution matters.Stay updated on the latest developments in patent law and life sciences to provide informed counsel to clients.Requirements:Strong academic credentials, including a minimum of an M.D. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry.Demonstrated experience in patent-related work within the life sciences industry.Proficient in intellectual property law, patent drafting, and patent prosecution.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client interactions and legal document preparation.Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.Education:Minimum of an M.D. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry.Certifications:Licensing as a Patent Agent or equivalent qualifications preferred.Skills:Knowledge of patent law and regulations related to life sciences.Proficiency in conducting prior art searches using patent databases.Exceptional research and analytical abilities.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.Familiarity with patent prosecution software and tools.Ability to adapt to evolving legal and scientific landscapes.
