Estate Planning Drafting Paralegal

We’re seeking a skilled and experienced estate planning drafting paralegal with a minimum of 2 years of drafting experience in a law office environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently. If you are a team player and enjoy helping others, this position is for you. Compensation: $47,000 - $65,000 depending on experience, knowledge and technical abilities. Trial period will be required. Our Benefits include: • Health and Dental Insurance• 401(k)• Profit Sharing Plan• Long and Short Term Disability Insurance• 3 weeks of Paid Time Off• Paid Holidays Responsibilities:• Draft estate planning documents to include wills, powers of attorney, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and various types of agreements as well as client correspondence.• Draft documents necessary to facilitate trust funding and assist clients with trust funding questions and issues.• Performs basic legal research.• Communicate with clients.• Maintain drafting statistics and suspense system.• Maintain estate planning client files.• Update and maintain estate planning templates, forms, checklists, and letters. Qualifications: • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times• High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus• Must have worked as an estate and trust drafting paralegal in a law firm for a minimum of 2 years.• Good typing skills and proficiency with MS Office products and HotDocs. Knowledge of TABS3/PracticeMaster preferable but not required.• Should have a general knowledge of the Virginia Uniform Trust Code.• Must be able to work independently as well as with others.• Must have excellent time-management, communication, and organizational skills.• Must be a strong writer with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
