Facilities Manager Job Description Summary The role is responsible for the planning, direction, and supervision of all facilities related activities for BD Canaan Ct Site. Manages project equipment purchases/leases, small building renovations, equipment installation, and commissioning. Supports daily for all plant groups on arranging specific requests utilizing internal or external resources to complete. Aligns necessary resources to support plant wide initiatives as directed.Manages and ensures that all facility related equipment is maintained to existing planned schedules.Is the primary Emergency coordinator for the Canaan Site.Ensures compliance to BD Quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices. Additionally ensures compliance to applicable local, state, federal and BD Safety regulations policies and procedures.Regular punctual attendance is essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Converse in Spanish is a positive. Willing and able to uphold BD Values. Responsibilities Provides leadership and guidance to all resources allocated to Facilities and other assigned projects Manages contracted trades and vendors who perform work for Canaan Site facilities duties and or projects (i.e.: Janitorial, Snow Removal, landscaping, fork truck/aerial lifts, roofing, Pest Control, Rigging) Coordinates these trades work with other plant groups as needed.Responsible for plant monthly & annual bridge crane inspection /maintenance Responsible for plant BMS (Building Management System). Directly responsible for plant ancillary processes and HVAC operations.Responsible for plant electrical infrastructure, boilers, air handlers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, emergency generators, sprinkler, and fire protection monitoring.Support other plant equipment as needed.Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of plant rail siding to main track.Main point of contact for corporate insurer / risk management vendor for related visits and or corrective actions.Is the plant Emergency Coordinator and works closely with plant EHS staff as required. Is called upon to assist in plant security measures or issues.Works to support introduction of new equipment /processes as needed.Develop and control departmental and capital costs relative to facilities and or upon request.Generates purchase orders and supports contract formulation.Supports IT infrastructure requests as neededDrives plant facilities team to identify, plan and execute sustainability cost savings projects to meet annual savings goals and measures.Project planning for CTW cost reductionsControl departmental and capital costs relative to facilities operationsLead highly effective team of tradesman, contractors, and operational support groupsInvolved in overall planning and achievement of plant sustainability goals Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of people management experience.Minimum 7 years of facilities management experience.Needs to be available 24/7 to address any related facilities emergency or related issues impacting manufacturing operations.
