Lead Mechanic/Technician (Evenings) in Huntsville, TX, US Supervise a team of technicians to ensure equipment repairs and maintenance are done following safety standards and regulations under the supervision of a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. - Responsible for maintaining and servicing chassis (diesel and non-diesel equipment/trucks) and refuse bodywork, which includes hydraulic, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems. - Identify complex repair issues, provide guidance to other technicians on diagnostic methods, conduct external repair inspections, and optimize repair schedules for workshop efficiency. Extensive experience in equipment maintenance and repair. - Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations. - Leadership skills to guide a team and offer technical support. - Proficiency in diagnostic techniques and repair scheduling. Responsibilities:• As a Lead Mechanic/Technician in Huntsville, TX, US, you will maintain expert knowledge and proficiency in-vehicle components and systems, including chassis repair, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine maintenance, suspension, drivetrain, steering systems, and heating and air conditioning systems.• You will perform line maintenance welding and fabrication and provide guidance to technicians to ensure all repair work is done safely, efficiently, and promptly.• Inspect repairs by third-party vendors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations, and conduct diagnostic assessments on complex issues using electronic tools.• Complete relevant training programs and take on Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities when necessary.• Serve as a mentor to technicians and carry out additional job-related tasks as needed. Qualifications:• Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, automotive systems Suspensions, Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions.• At least 3 years of experience in a role requiring compliance with OSHA Haz Com, OSHA Lock Out Tag Out, and all OSHA fire protection regulations is a plus but not required.• At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus but not required.• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.• Valid Driver’s License. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
