Our services include emergency shelters for youth, women, men and families, food security programs, hospice and palliative care, community mental health programs, supportive housing, and services for older adults/seniors. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd Centres - Bakhita House Bakhita House is seeking a dedicated House Manager to oversee the operations and activities in a residential setting that offers transitional housing to women-identified refugee claimants in Hamilton, Ontario. This role is pivotal in providing a safe, nurturing environment for residents and assisting with their settlement. How You Will Make an Impact As the House Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day management of the house and for providing support to residents, conducting scheduled activities, and ensuring daily living tasks are smoothly carried out. Your role extends to promoting a hospitable communal environment, providing information and resources to residents and maintaining the overall condition of the house and may include managing volunteers. Your duties will align with the Mission and Values of the Good Shepherd Centres, requiring a leadership approach that models these principles. As a central figure in communication, you will be responsible for effectively disseminating information to assist residents, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring residents are aware of confidentiality limits. You will play a critical role in the program, responding to crises, communicating with management for smooth operations, and providing support to women facing challenges as new immigrants.
