Happy Hounds Dog Care Center The function of our Dog Care Assistant position is to provide a positive and safe experience for all dogs in our care. A patient and caring attitude and the ability to multi-task in an environment full of distractions is a must. Willingness to learn new skills, follow instructions carefully, and work as part of a team is also required. Respectful communication with co-workers is also required. This is an entry-level position with true potential for advancement. We only promote from within. Nearly everyone at Happy Hounds started in the DCA position :-)Some specific job duties include: Feeding and medications for boarding and daycare dogs. Cleaning. Active supervision of group play. Cleaning. Basic dog grooming such as nail trims, baths, and de-shedding treatments. More cleaning. Poop pick up! Clean a little more... ENTRY LEVEL POSITION. SALARY STARTS AT $11.50/HOUR. Opportunities for advancement as we prefer to promote from within! Come grow with us! Requirements Basic requirements for ALL Happy Hounds employees include: HS graduate or equivalent. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to work some holidays. (We are busiest during major holidays). Love for ALL dogs and the smells, sounds and silly behavior that comes with them :-) Communication skills: Teamwork is required. Ability to complete required tasks in sometimes adverse conditions. This is HARD WORK. Punctuality and reliability. We expect our employees to be on time - No excuses. Because our customers pay us to take care of their beloved pets, we must have a reliable and responsible staff. Ability to closely follow instructions and complete tasks independently. Ability to be on your feet for a 5+ hour shift, minus your break(s) :) Ability to lift and carry 40+ pounds. Ability to learn and independently operate tools such as rotary tools, vacuums, dry vapor steam cleaners, washer/ dryer and a walk behind floor scrubber. Ability to learn and utilize technology such as tablet and PC computers, digital cameras, and online scheduling/ HR software.
