Through its merger with Oil Search, Santos has acquired and assumed operatorship over a world-class portfolio of oil leases on the Alaskan North Slope, USA. Our focus in Alaska is advancement of our Pikka Phase 1 project, which includes a single drill site, an oil processing facility, and other infrastructure to support production of 80,000 barrels of oil per day. Pikka has been identified as being among the top quartile of oil and gas development projects for greenhouse gas emissions performance. Pikka is poised to play an important role in the energy transition and is aligned with our company goal of managing climate change risk. Santos and its partner Repsol has committed the funding for Pikka Phase 1 and is on track to deliver first oil by 2026. The Pikka Unit is one of the largest conventional oil discoveries made in the United States in the last 30 years, and the Pikka Phase 1 Project is the most significant development on Alaska's North Slope in more than 20 years. The permitted Pikka development project includes two additional drill sites. The Alaska assets also include discoveries made from both the Mitquq and Stirrup exploration wells drilled in 2020. These opportunities combine to offer a clear path to long-term growth in Alaska. POSITION PURPOSE This position is an Integrated Commissioning and Operation role, it will be a project-based position for the project planning and execution phase focused on oversight and leading I&C technician in commissioning activities. This role will support the Commissioning Manager in delivering the preparation and execution of commissioning activities. Specifically, this role will oversee the instrumentation and control commissioning of Pikka Project facilities and direct contractor Technicians to complete the commissioning systems. The position will be based on Santos HQ in Anchorage AK for the planning phase, performing multiples visits to the fabrication yards, on field execution, the position will be moved to the North Slope on rotational basis of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Adhere to standards of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) and comply with the Santos Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Coach personnel on safety observation and hazard identification.Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements.Oversee and direct I&C technicians in plan inspection, commissioning support and troubleshooting control of instrumentation and fire & gas equipment for Pikka facilities.Performance manages as appropriate. Facilitate various training sessions and assurance of worker competency.Manage and provide daily / weekly reports to the Commissioning Manager and raise any concerns that may affect handover in line with the project sub - system delivery scheduleLead I&C commissioning department when interfacing with Construction and monitor contractors' I&C completion and pre-commissioning activitiesMaintain records and approved regular and special reports on I&C systemsAnalyze work problems and make corrections that will facilitate the completion of system assignments.Organize resources to conduct walks downs as required representing the I&C STO commissioning discipline.Approved completion of the I&C commissioning check sheets.Oversee and lead vendor representatives and site operations in commissioning and start up activities.Approved and oversees preservation plans for the I&C and package equipment.Sign-off and approved logbooks of recorded commissioning and operational events. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Formal Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical related field preferred Experience Experienced professional who is conversant with Oil and Gas Construction and Commissioning processes.Minimum 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry and capital projectsMinimum 10 years' oil and gas industry experience in Hook - up & Commissioning projects.Instrument & Control theory, work methods, tools and testing equipment used in the commissioning of Oil/Gas Facilities.Experience in both design and commissioning and managerial skills.Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and achieve project goals and milestones.
