Your opportunity: The Department of Physiology is one of the largest basic science departments in the Faculty of Medicine and one of the largest physiology departments in North America. It is a highly interdisciplinary department with many local and global partnerships, allowing excellent opportunities for intensive research training and teaching in medicalscience. As Payroll & Finance Officer, you will support the day-to-day financial administration of research grants and operating accounts for our department. You will work closely with our administrative team to provide a broad range of financial services and support, including coordination of payroll processing for trainees and casual research staff, posting and monitoring financial transactions, and maintaining payroll and financial records. Your enthusiasm, superior organizational skills and attention to detail will contribute to our success. Your responsibilities will include: Processing financial and payroll transactions Interpreting and communicating financial guidelines and procedures, ensuring adherence to granting agency and University guidelines and procedures Tracking and monitoring research accounts and preparing progress reports for granting agencies Investigating discrepancies and making recommendations on the utilization of research funding Reviewing payroll distribution reports and preparing and reconciling monthly financial reports Essential Qualifications: Advanced.
