Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Health Information Services provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of systems, standards, policies and processes for health information to meet the needs of patient & client service providers as well as the legal and administrative needs of the Service Delivery Organization (SDOs) acute, continuing care and community sectors. The supervisor of health information services (HIS) provides supervision to staff who support the following functions: patient registration, coding and abstracting of data, release of personal health information (PHI), health records processing & telephone/patient inquiry and information services in the Shared Health - Health Sciences Centre. Main Function Oversee and provide supervision to health information services staff in adopting and implementing health information standards and processes for the service delivery organization (SDO). Work as part of an integrated team to support local operations and health services delivery with information gathering and giving to ensure accurate, timely and meaningful information and data to guide decision-making.
